Since the start of the FIFA World Cup in Russia, no African team has won a game.
Egypt, Morocco and Nigeria have all lost their opening games in the World Cup.
Tunisia and Senegal are yet to play.
The first African team to play in the World Cup was Egypt.
Unfortunately Egypt were without their talisman, Mohamed Salah.
Salah was not fit enough to play the opening game against Uruguay.
Despite the absence of Salah, Egypt put up a brilliant performance.
They were resilient against an experienced Uruguayan team, comprising of the like of Luiz Suarez and Edinson Cavani.
The game was a cagey affair until the 75 minute when Egypt took control of the game and tried to sneak in a goal to steal the three points.
In the 89th minute the Pharaohs conceded a goal which makes them third in a group of the hosts, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay. Russia sits on top of the group A table after thrashing Saudi Arabia 5-0.
Egypt will now have to win their last two games to qualify for the round of 16.
The second African team to play was Morocco.
They faced a stubborn Iran side managed by Carlos Queiroz.
The main strength of Iran is their defense and they took full advantage of it that day.
While Morocco pressed the Iranians throughout the game, they could not find the goal they desperately needed.
In the end an own goal in the last minute saw Morocco lose all three points.
They are last in a group of Spain, Portugal and Iran.

The Iranians are first with three points while Portugal and Spain are on the same points after the 3-3 draw.
Nigeria, the third African team to play lost to Croatia as a result of two silly mistakes by the defenders.
The first was an own goal by Peter Etebo and the second was a foul committed by Troost Ekong on Mario Mandzukic in the 18 yard area.
A penalty was awarded and Croatian captain, Luka Modric, converted it.
With that loss, Nigeria sits at the bottom of group D with two matches remaining. Anything short of a win in the next game against Iceland may see the Super Eagles of Nigeria crashing out of the World Cup early.
Tunisia and Senegal are the only African teams that have not played any match in this World Cup.
Tunisia face England tomorrow in group G, while Senegal will play Poland on Tuesday in group H opener.
Africans all over the world would surely rely on both teams to win their respective openers.
