The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the November 16, 2019, governorship election in Kogi State, Mr. Musa Wada, has said he would appeal Saturday’s decision of the election tribunal.
Wada made his intentions known in an interview with Channels Television in Abuja after the judgment on Saturday.
Recall that in a two-to-one judgment, the tribunal had on Saturday, dismissed the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and Wada challenging Yahaya Bello’s declaration as winner of the 2019 election in the state.
Two members of the Panel in dismissing the petition, held that Wada and his party failed to prove any of the grounds of their petition.

The tribunal also awarded a cost of one million naira to be paid by the petitioners, to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Yahaya Bello and All Progressives Congress (APC) who were the respondents.
However, in a dissenting judgment, Justice Ohimai Ovbiagele nullified Bello’s election and ordered INEC to conduct fresh elections in seven local government areas where he said the petitioners proved their allegations of over-voting, thuggery, voter intimidation, massive thumb printing, and other electoral malpractices.
Reacting to the judgment, Wada contended that the dissenting judgment by Justice Ovbragele was a clear indication that the election of Governor Bello was flawed.
He, therefore, insisted that the majority judgment of the Tribunal was not a true representation of the events of November 16, 2019, in Kogi State.
