As Governor Umo Eno marks his 62nd birthday, members of his project Monitoring and Evaluation Team took the celebration to Mother Charles Walker Children home, Anua Offot, Uyo to share love and the Governor’s benevolence with the children.
The team led by Barr Morgan Ekanem presented the jubilant kids with numerous food stuff and beverages, as well as a birthday cake for the celebration.
Addressing the kids, Barr Ekanem said the gesture was in line with the compassionate disposition of Governor Umo Eno.
He noted that yearly, the Governor, dedicates his birthdays as a day to spread love and put smiles on the faces of the less privileged, adding that the items presented were to commemorate the Governor’s birthday.
He appreciated the Governor for his benevolence and for choosing them to serve in the project team.
The team leader took time to encourage the kids to look beyond their background and urged them to avoid allowing their backs to remain on the ground.
He urged the children and their care-givers to always pray for the Governor, his family and the State for continuous peace and development.
Receiving the items, on behalf of the home, Rev Sister Matilda Inyang appreciated the Governor for leading with compassion.
Sister Inyang who was flanked by one of the oldest children of the home, currently an under graduate, also appreciated members of the team for choosing to celebrate the Governors birthday with them, and prayed for more blessings upon the Governor and his administration.
