In order to get rid of the dreaded Coronavirus, from Benue State, the state government has commenced the fumigation of markets and other public places.
Recall that Governor Ortom had told newsmen on Wednesday during a tour of markets and other public places that the fumigation of markets would commence soon.
Describing the exercise as a promise fulfilled, the Director of Livestock Services in the State Ministry of Agticulture and a member of the Benue State Action Committee on COVID-19, Edward Amali, told journalists in an interview that the committee have lived up to expectations since inception.
Amali who was supervising the fumigation exercise at the Wurukum market when newsmen visited said government is committed to the fumigation exercise to get rid of COVID-19 wherever it might be and spare the state from recording another positive case of the virus.
He emphasized that hospitals, markets, parks and even streets where the virus may be suspected to be hanging would equally be fumigated.

Amali who noted that Virusid chemical is being used for the fumigation explained that it is the same chemical recommended during their meeting.
He said the exercise would take up to a week to get all the markets and other places fumigated.
Chairman of Wurukum Market Traders, where the exercise began, Mr. Ibrahim Adura said the traders had complied with the stay-at-home directive to allow for the fumigation of the market.
He commended the state government for taking proactive measures and prayed that the coronavirus pandemic would clear very quickly to allow traders return to their normal businesses.
