Plans by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Alimosho area of Lagos are in top gear for a symposium on democracy and voter education programme towards the 2019 general elections.
Mr. Isaiah Kanu, the APGA chairman in Alimosho, who spoke in Lagos on Thursday, however, said the event, which would include awards for top leaders, earlier billed for Saturday November 17, 2018, has been shifted.
He said the shift became necessary due to the lifting of the ban on political campaigns at the weekend, which might kick start campaigns by politicians, including APGA, during the weekend.
The development, he added, necessitated some re-adjustments, even as he said a new date would be announced for the event.
Kanu informed that during the symposium two topics would be treated, the first being “Effects of Corruption and Immunity on Nigeria’s Democratic System’ to be handled by Barrister S.O. Peters, and ‘How to Ensure Free and Fair Elections’ by Barrister Christopher Ezeh.

He also pleaded with the party’s supporters to go to their voting unit to verify their manes on the voter lists that had been on display, urging those whose names might be missing to make the necessary reports for corrections.
Among those pencilled down for the awards are Chief Chris Eze, Barrister Bob Okoroji, Chief Isaiah Kanu,Hon. Daniel Agummadu, Chief Donatus Nwafor, Joseph Eberechukwu Obiokeke and His Royal Highness, Eze Steve Chukwuemeka Dike.
Others are Chief Mrs Vera Ego Osuagwu and Lolo Ijeoma Nwajames, among others.
