The Federal Government has vowed to arrest and prosecute travel agents responsible for making some football fans from Nigeria to be stranded in Russia after the 2018 World Cup.
It has called for documents to nail the agents responsible.
No fewer than 230 people were stranded in Russia with majority of them claiming that their return s were cancelled without their knowledge.
The position of the government was made known by the Nigerian Ambassador to Russia, Prof. Steve Ugba, in an online video.
The video was released on Sunday in Abuja by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Tope Elias-Fatile.
Ugba spoke while addressing the stranded football fans in Moscow before they were evacuated to Nigeria.
His words: “Give us any document that you have about the people who deceived you, or the people who scammed you, who did you 419 so that we can have them picked up and prosecuted in Nigeria.

“We do not want them to go free. So, any document you have that will tell us who these people are.
“We are waiting for them in Nigeria because the kind of behaviour that you exhibited here shows that you have character, shows that you have respect for yourselves, and shows that you have respect for Nigeria.”
He pointed out that it was a crime for persons who sold tickets to them to turn back and deny them the means of returning to Nigeria.
“We want to hold those responsible for this terrible behaviour to account for their action so that next time, they will not do the same,” he said.
The stranded Nigerians had gone to the Nigerian embassy in Russia to protest their inability to return to Nigeria, having been duped.
Following the complaints, President Muhammadu Buhari ordered their evacuation.
On Friday, no fewer than 155 of the people were evacuated to Nigeria.
