Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has announced that he would be the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2019.

Fayose made the prophetic announcement at Esan Ibibio, Uyo the Akwa Ibom State capital on Monday, at the grand reception for Governor Udom Gabriel and his wife, Martha Udom Emmanuel by the Ibibio nation.

He said, “I am here today as Ayo Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, Nigeria. I am here representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in general as chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and I’m here by the grace God, and by the good wishes of the good people of Akwa Ibom State as the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“I want to assure you of my cooperation and support by the grace of God come 2019, when the mandate falls to this party, as the next president of the country, but that is for another day.

“You don’t known that God works in mysterious ways and when God says He will man can only grumble,” he the said.

The governor who turned the event into a political rally added that he had carried out an assessment of his popularity and concluded that he would win overwhelmingly in the South-South, South East and South West regions while the Northern votes would be shared with whoever would contest with him.

He described Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel as a special brand and a man divinely chosen by God, stressing that Akwa Ibom would have been unlucky if the governor had lost his case at the tribunal.

Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorcha expressed dissatisfaction over the seeming disparity in terms of resources between the South-South and the South-East which originally were one people.

He disclosed that the governors of the two regions had met and taken a decision to bridge the gap and build bridges of unity and love between the two ethnic regions.

“For some time now, there has been a disconnect in terms of resources between the South-South and the South East. Historically we are one. After the meeting yesterday at Enugu, we decided that we must rebuild the bridge, political and economic bridges that saw us together today.”

Rochas said Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel was not only the governor of a section of the people; neither was he the governor of PDP or APC but the governor of the entire Akwa Ibom State.

He stressed that “Nigerian must know where politics stops and where governance begins.”

His counterpart fom Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, expressed satisfaction with the large turn-out of people at the event saying it was an indication that Udom Gabriel was in touch with God and with his people.

Governor Udom Emmanuel in his remark thanked and appreciated the people for the honour done him and promised to do more.

“What can I say in an occasion like this than to thank God and to thank you for the honour done me and reaffirm my determination to serve you better” Udom stated.
