The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted localised thunderstorms over the Central States of Ibi, Jalingo and Mambilla Plateau axis on Wednesday morning.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Tuesday in Abuja also predicted that Makurdi, Lokoja, Lafia, Kaduna and Jos would experience localised thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening period.
It added that the region would have day and night temperatures in the range of 25 to 31 and 16 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that the southern states would experience morning cloudy conditions with prospects of localised rains in the afternoon and evening hours.
It also predicted day and night temperatures of 29 to 32 and 20 to 22 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience localised thunderstorms over Sokoto, Kebbi, Maiduguri and Yola axis in the morning hours.
“Later in the day, Localised thunderstorms are not unlikely over this region with day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 32 and 20 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
“There is a high level of humidity across many parts of the country and this is expected to give rise to some rainfall activities over most cities,’’ NiMet predicted.
