The invasion of a church in Anambra State is not by the terrorists group, Boko Haram, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Garba Umar, has declared.

Umar made this declaration on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, some gunmen stormed St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra.

The church was observing its morning mass at about 5:45 a.m.when the attackers invaded the church and shot a particular man.

An eye witness said that they later went on rampage and shot at the remaining worshippers numbering over 100.

Scores of people were killed in the church while other critically injured worshippers died on the way to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.

The source, however, said the priest of the church was not wounded in the incident.
