The Air Component of Operation, Operation Hadin Kai has carried out a precision airstrike on a major terrorist logistics hub in Jilli, Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State, neutralising several insurgents and destroying critical assets.
The operation, conducted on April 11, 2026, followed sustained Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions along the Bindul–Jilli corridor, an area long identified by security forces as a key movement route and convergence point for fighters linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province.
Military sources said the strike was based on credible intelligence indicating heightened terrorist activity in the area.
Surveillance teams reportedly tracked multiple motorcycles and gun trucks moving toward a suspected convergence point near the abandoned village of Jilli. The movement was later confirmed through human intelligence to involve insurgents and logistics operatives.
After verification to ensure target accuracy, air assets were deployed for the strike. Preliminary battle damage assessment indicated a high level of precision, with the destruction of the logistics base, vehicles, and equipment used by the group.
Security officials said “scores of terrorists” were killed in the operation, while others fled in disarray.
The military added that the targeted location was being used as a staging ground for planned attacks on troop positions within the Gubio axis. Its destruction, they said, has significantly disrupted the group’s operational capacity and foiled imminent threats.
The latest offensive is part of renewed efforts by Operation Hadin Kai to dismantle terrorist networks across the North-East.
It also follows recent attacks in Ngamdu and Benisheik, which were reportedly linked to the same logistics network. In response, troops intensified surveillance and intelligence operations across the affected areas.
In a related development, security forces on April 12 arrested a suspected logistics courier identified as “Turja Bulu” in Ngamdu. During preliminary interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to involvement in the April 9 attack on a military formation in Benisheik.
He further disclosed that he was dispatched from Jilli to deliver supplies to insurgents operating within the Magumeri–Gubio axis, suggesting a coordinated logistics network sustaining terrorist operations in the region.
Military authorities said ongoing operations will continue to target remaining insurgent elements, disrupt supply chains, and restore stability in the North-East.
