Three persons have been allegedly killed in a renewed attack by suspected herdsmen in Katsina Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.

The Chairman of Katsina Ala LGA, Mr. Alfred Atera confirmed the killing on Wednesday while speaking to journalists on phone, saying herdsmen are now collaborating with Gana boys to kill innocent villagers.

The Next Edition recalls that bandits suspected to be loyal to the late Benue gang leader, Terwase Akwaza, aka Gana, had issued threats to descend heavily on Katsina Ala residents after troops of Operation While Stroking killed four of their members recently.

The threat caused serious panic around the community which made most of the residents to flee for their dear lives.

The Chairman who confirmed that Gana boys have formed alliance with herdsmen to attack the villagers said, “That is what they are doing now. Last night, I heard that the herdsmen went to attack people in Yoyo community.

“I learned that three people were killed close to Katsina Ala. They said they were herdsmen but they were working together with these Gana boys.”

Mr. Atera who stated that the situation is calm said “We have combed the entire place and we are not allowing them to cluster in one place again.

“Anywhere we see that they have formed a camp, we destroy the camp. So they are not settled to plan for a reprisal attack like they threatened.

“We have reduced the Gana boys, but what they are doing is that anytime they want to attack, they plan with the herdsmen. They are the ones that invited them to come and cause mayhem in the land. So they are living together with them in the bush”
