The INEC returning officer for the Sokoto state governorship election, Fatima Mukhtar, has adjourned the collation of results in the state till 9am.
Mukhtar announced the adjournment following a brief discussion with Amina Zakari, INEC National Commissioner in charge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states.
According to Mukhtar, the adjournment was as a result of the non-arrival of results from Kebbe local government areas, LGAS, of the state.

However, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, agents and supporters at collation centre protested the adjournment, describing it as a plot to rig the election.
Going by results from results so far declared, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of the PDP, is leading lead with 10,499 votes while Aliyu Ahmed of the All Progressives Congress, APC 10,338.
