Members of the Senate and House of Representatives are a present conducting a joint closed-door session.
The session, it was gathered, was to discuss the growing tension in the polity following alleged harassment of members of the Legislature by the Executive arm of government.
News of the session was announced by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, during plenary.
Earlier, the Senate had had a closed-door session after which the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, said they would proceed to the House of Representatives for a joint session with members of the lower chamber.
Although Dogara and Saraki did not state the reason for the joint session, it is believed to be in connection with the different criminal charges against some of the vocal members of the Legislature and the need to address them.
It would be recalled that there has been a growing tension in the country following the relationship between the Executive and the Legislature.
On Sunday, the spokesman of the Nigeria Police Force, Jimoh Moshood, announced the invitation of the Senate President for questioning over the April 15 Offa bank robbery, in Kwara State.

The robbery suspects held over the incident that led to the death of no fewer than 17 persons, including policemen, were said to have indicted Saraki.
Saraki had, in a swift reaction, dismissed the allegation as baseless, saying it was a grand plot by the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to implicate him by all means.
He said Idris was trying to get back at him over the action of the Senate against the IGP who refused to honour the invitation to explain reasons for the poor state of insecurity in the country.
After a meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the police dropped the invitation and asked Saraki to write what he knew about the case within 48 hours.
Another similar case, indicating a clampdown on the Legislature, is that involving the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye.
He was alleged to have been indicted by some suspect in a case of illegal possession of arms.
Melaye has been released on bail.
Another vocal legislator from Kaduna, Shehu Sani, was also questioned recently by the police over a murder case.
The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, had had his share of alleged harassment by the police recently.
