Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has stressed the need for all Nigerians to seek the face of God for divine intervention in the affairs of the nation and the world.
Sanwo-Olu, who spoke at a one-day annual prayer and fasting of the Fellowship of Christian Ministers Nigeria (FCMN), held at Christ Light-House Church, Oshodi, Lagos, on Saturday, underscored the efficacy of prayer in the reordering the affairs of humanity for the better.
The governor, who was represented by Very Rev. Bukonla Adelele, his Special Assistant on Christian Religious Affairs, stressed the need for everyone to imbibe the habit of prayer as a lifestyle, even as he noted that the prayer session was significant as the nation and indeed the world was in need of prayer, moreso as Christendom was observing the Lent.
He stressed: “We all belong to God and I believe He will in His infinite mercies answer our prayers and accept our fasting,” even as he prayed that Nigeria and indeed the world would experience divine healing.

In a statement read at the event, Rt. Rev. Isaac O. Ogunniran, FCMN president lamented the state of insecurity in the land, stating Nigerians no longer travel freely in the country or sleep with two eyes closed.
He bemoaned how Boko Haram insurgents, Fulani herdsmen, kidnappers, assassins and bandits had been unleashing terror on the citizens.
He maintained that since the security agencies had been overwhelmed, the Federal Government should encourage the adoption of community policing by encouraging the setting up of security outfits like the Amotekun across the country to save the situation.
The group also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to do everything possible to check insecurity in the land as the nation’s Commander-In Chief and Chief Security Officer.
