Sanwo-Olu Reshuffles Cabinet

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday carried out a cabinet reshuffle, which saw the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture losing her job.

The shake-up was announced by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Gboyega Akosile in a statement which disclosed that in all, eight cabinet portfolios were affected in the exercise.

Besides the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture the others are ; ministries of Local Government, Special Duties, Wealth Creation and Employment, Home Affairs and Waterfront Infrastructure. Others are the Central Business District and Urban Development.

The statement disclosed that three commissioners were moved around, while two Special Advisers were assigned new roles as commissioners.

The affected commissioners and their new portfolios are: Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Wale Ahmed who was moved to Local Government and Community Affairs; Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke, who moved from Local Government and Community Affairs to the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment and Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf who was moved from the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture as the new Commissioner.

Meanwhile the former Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Shulamite Adebolu was the only one in the shake-up not reassigned.

Two former Special Advisers, Anofiu Elegushi and Kabiru Ahmed were assigned to the Ministries of Home Affairs and Waterfront Infrastructure as Commissioners respectively.

Akosile said Gov. Sanwo-Olu also announced portfolios for the new cabinet members. They are Tayo Bamgbose-Martins, Commissioner-designate (Special Duties), Mr. Oyerinde Olugbenga Olanrewaju, Special Adviser-designate (Central Business District) and Ayuba Ganiu Adele, Special Adviser-designate (Urban Development).

Sanwo-Olu thanked members of the Lagos State House of Assembly for believing in the Executive and for ratifying the cabinet nominees bearing the interests of the electorate in mind.

He assured that his action was in line with his administration’s vision of delivering good governance to Lagosians.
