Talented footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, has denied raping a woman in a US hotel room almost a decade ago.
The accusation was made against him by 34-year-old Kathryn Mayorga.
Ronaldo claimed that such a crime was against everything he is and believes in.
Ms Mayorga reportedly said she was assaulted by the football star at Las Vegas nightclub in 2009.
She further gave an extensive detail in her interview with German Magazine, Der Spiegel about filing a report with Las Vegas police shortly after the alleged incident.
However, the following year, there were reports of her reaching an out-of-court settlement with Ronaldo involving a $375,000 payment and agreeing never to go public with the allegations.

On Wednesday, October 3, 2018, the Juventus forward took to his Twitter account to address the allegations saying that he awaited the results of a reopened police investigation “with tranquility.”
He said: “I firmly deny the accusations being issued against me; rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in.
“Keen as I may be to clear my name, I refuse to feed the media spectacle created by people seeking to promote themselves at my expense.
“My clear conscious [sic] will thereby allow me to await with tranquillity the results of any and all investigations.”
Ronaldo, 33 had previously denied the allegations and described Mayorga’s allegations as “fake news.”
However, he said after the decision by the Las Vegas police authorities this week to conduct further investigations into the allegations, he had to react.
