The Nigerian Senate has summoned the Minister of Defence, service chiefs, as well as heads of the Nigerian Police Force and the Department of State Service over the deteriorating security situation in the country.
The resolution, on Tuesday, followed a motion moved by Senator Bello Mandiya from Katsina State on the abduction of about 333 boys from a secondary school in the state recently.

The lawmakers, who expressed frustration over the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari had consistently ignored all resolutions passed by the upper chamber on the issue of insecurity in the country, called on him to implement the report of the Senate Committee on Security challenges without further delay.
Various members of the red chamber in their contributions to the motion, passed a vote of no confidence in the various heads of security agencies in the country for their inability to prevent the abduction of the innocent children.
The senators insisted that Buhari should sack the service chiefs without further delay.
