Activities at the Presidential Villa, Abuja has reached a feverish pitch as security officials and civilian staff put finishing touches to arrangements to receive President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mr. Buhari, who has been in the United Kingdom for treatment during the last105 days, will be returning to Abuja, Saturday, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The president is billed to arrive at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at 3.pm.

According to NAN, the staff of the presidency have remained on standby while security personnel and vehicles on president’s convoy had moved to the airport to receive Mr. Buhari.

As part of measures to receive the president, members of the presidential guards’ brigade were seen moving toward the airport after conducting rehearsal at the Abuja Arcade.

On arrival in the country, Mr. Buhari is expected to make a national broadcast to the country on Monday at 7 am.

The absence of Mr. Buhari for three months had sparked controversy in the country and resulted in protests and counter protests.

He was mocked by two American media organisations, The Washington Post and the Cable News Network (CNN) for clinging onto power despite failing health.

Mr. Buhari had left the Abuja on May 7, for the second leg of treatment of an undisclosed ailment in London and has only been seen by a few privileged persons from the country.

Some of those who saw the ailing president included Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress and some state governors.

Others included the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, the Senate President,< Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.
