Early on Thursday, Nigerians heard that the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, ACPN, Oby Ezekwesili had withdrawn from the Presidential race.

No doubt while it lasted, she had those rooting for her and those who didn’t support her.

Below are some reactions to her withdrawal:

Oby Ezekwesili stepping down this close to the February election just goes on to prove that the Nigerian politics is a joke.

And if you choose to die for the sake of any politician, you’re the biggest fool around. – @Memanhere_

Madam Oby Ezekwesili is out of the race.

Fela Durutoye is also considering withdrawing from the race too.

They will continue to withdraw till we have Atiku and Buhari left.

Jokers! – @realNCNC

Oby Ezekwesili has my respect ??

Someone who has realised that kicking the #APCPDP folks out isn’t by mere word of mouth.

More importantly, she showed how willing she is to make sacrifices for the Nigerian people who deserve better.

God bless you ma. – @ikenna_oo

Ma Oby Ezekwesili just stepped down from the presidential race earlier today, someone who barely campaigned.

Mr Fela Durotoye is now giving us hints. He MIGHT likely step down too. Let’s be watching all these dramas. I wonder why you all didn’t see through all these till now. – @adaezemonique

Oby Ezekwesili bows out of Presidential Race, Madam Oby started and ended her presidential bid and campaigning on social media.

I hope those who contributed funds for her numerous interviews will get a refund soon.

This is why we don’t like giving candidates money. – @kazy_yusuf

Oby Ezekwesili drops out from the 2019 Presidential race

Are you still angry Atiku boycotted the debate? – @iamUncleMark

Oby Ezekwesili moved from referee to player. She has now turned herself into a manger.

All in the space of 3 months. – @AustinYugo

Now that Oby Ezekwesili has stepped down, what happens to her name & party logo that has already been printed on the ballot paper? – @_Mazimum

We can say many things about Aunty Oby Ezekwesili’s candidacy but please leave that money angle out of it.

She is not a thief.

She doesn’t need your money to live.

@YarKafanchan

I think Madam Oby Ezekwesili made the right move, Nigerians sense the change and support the intelligence

#APCPDP – @osaro_osula

Now that madam Oby Ezekwesili has withdrawn from the presidential race, who is going to be next? #feladurotoye #Moghalu #Sowore #ObyEzekwesili – @Yusufwrites

Madame Oby Ezekwesili declared for President.

Collected 158M naira as donations

Refused to set up campaign offices or do nationwide campaigns.

Performed badly at the presidential debate

Quit race, but becomes richer.

What is she? – @Stalyf

So after all the campaign, donations, Debate etc, only for Madam Oby Ezekwesili to withdraw from presidential race today. She knows she doesn’t have anything to offer Nigerians, she just came to make small osusu for herself. This people are the real Yahoo yahoo. – @DaminaboEric

Declared for President.

Collected donations into millions.

Refused to campaign.

Under performed at the debate

Quit race.

Becomes richer.

Madam Oby Ezekwesili is a yahoo boy.

Scam follow for promo. – @Atikufied

First, Oby Ezekwesili now Fela Durotoye stepping down for a possible coalition. I love this idea but I wish it was done sooner. – @ArmyDavido

Y’all happy she left the presidential race ….what of the millions of naira pumped into her campaign..

What of those young voters that saw her as the hope of Nigeria…. Who will they go for….

Auntie Oby

Oby Ezekwesili – @The_Real_Enesco

The criticism by Oby Ezekwesili on AA and Bubu in refusing to debate was valid. Even though AA and PMB defined it as a political strategy, I wonder if we can term her stepping down as a strategy too or an act of cowardice? Everybody would justify his actions. – @Jozhthafuture

A lot of Nigerians were not happy that Oby Ezekwesili, an ordinary woman was contesting for president. All those form coalition advice that was given to her were just back biting. She has stated her mission to form a coalition now, watch Nigerians in their true color.

@OsasDapheel

So much to say about Oby Ezekwesili’s decision to pull out of the Presidential race.

Not today. Not tomorrow.

My respect for her remains intact. – @adebotes

Few months before the 2011 elections, Tinubu & Buhari wanted a deal, but they knew it was late, so they waited until after election before they came up with APC. Oby Ezekwesili, Fela Durotoye & others should just wait till after election, strike a deal and work towards 2023. – @Onyema_Donald

Did I not tell you aunty Oby Ezekwesili and all these 3rd force people were scamming you ? – @YemieFASH

Will Oby Ezekwesili return the money donated to her by Nigerians for her presidential campaigns?

Time to be a woman of integrity.

@Manlike_ED

Atiku was supposed to debate Fela Durotoye, Oby Ezekwesili and Kingsley Moghalu.

The first two are already out of the race; so he didn’t miss out much by not participating.

On a serious note – winning elections requires some planning, it’s not enough to be passionate & sincere.
