The Nigeria Police Force has issued a fresh directive to Senator Ben Murray Bruce and Senator Dino Melaye to report to the Federal Capital Territory Police Command on Monday.
They were initially directed to report at the IGP monitoring unit.
The directive was given to enable the police carry out its investigation into the protest embarked upon by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Friday over alleged rigging of the Osun State governorship election held recently.
The protesters, led by the National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, alleged that the police were involved in the alleged rigging that gave victory to Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, instead of Ademola Adeleke of the PDP.

But after the protest, the police accused the protesters of attacking some of its personnel by the senators.
Ben Bruce, Dino Melaye and Saraki were said to have been captured in a video recording of the event and hence were directed to report to the police for investigation.
In a statement on Sunday, the spokesman of the Nigeria Police Force, Jimoh Moshood, said investigation was ongoing in the case and that invitation letters had been sent to Ben Bruce and Dino Melaye.
Said he: “The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has the statutory jurisdiction to investigate the matter.”
