Adesunbo Onitiri, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lagos Central Senatorial candidate, has condemned the hasty acceptance of the recently held Presidential and National Assembly elections as free and fair by the international community, especially United Kingdom (UK) and United States of America (USA).

Onitiri, who spoke through a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday, said without prejudice to the petition filed by Atiku Abubakar, PDP Presidential candidate, it was a well known fact that the elections were not free and fair.

He said: “In spite of the numerous abnormalities and riggings, the election was never free, nor fair and credible. The elections fell below every international standard.

“There was complicity of the security agencies and unscrupulous INEC officials in the elections. Even when INEC has declared rerun of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some states on March 9, yet they have declared winners. What a fallacy and charade!”

“As I speak I am yet to receive my results in so many polling units and collating centres from INEC. Yet, my opponent has been declared as winner of the senatorial election. This is the worst, most compromised and most fraudulent election ever conducted in the history of our democracy in Nigeria.

“I urge INEC to apologise to Nigerians for the charade and sham elections held on Saturday February 23 in spite of the huge resources Nigeria committed to it.”
