The immediate past governor of Imo State, and Senator representing Imo West, Rochas Okorocha, has demanded a public apology from a member of a committee on recovery of stolen state government assets who allegedly slapped his daughter.

The said official allegedly slapped Mrs. Uloma Rochas Nwosu, Okorocha’s first and wife of Uche Nwosu, the Action Alliance governorship candidate in the 2019 general elections.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Owerri by his media aide, Sam Onwuemedo, the former governor, said it was improper for the Peoples Democratic Party-led government in the state not to have apologised to him, his daughter Uloma and family, three days after the alleged incident.

He claimed that for the eight years he served as governor of Imo State, he did not use his power as chief executive to intimidate any indigene of the state.

He went to alleged that his successor, Emeka Ihedioha, was blackmailing him.

Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to Ihedioha on media, Steve Osuji, has refuted Okorocha’s claims that an official of the state slapped his daughter.

“We are not aware that such thing happened. We are not unruly like them.

If they are sure of what they are saying, let them go to court. They know the right thing to do,” he said.
