The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy skies over the Central states of the country on Tuesday with prospects of thunderstorms over Abuja, Jos, Lafia, Makurdi, Kaduna, Lokoja Niger and Ilorin during the morning hours.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 29 to 34 and 19 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
It added that partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with prospects of thunderstorms and moderate rains were expected over Yola, Abuja, Kaduna, Jos, Jalingo and Mambilla plateau later in the day.
The agency predicted that the Southern states would experience thunderstorms and moderate rains over this region during the morning hours with day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 34 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
It also predicted cloudy conditions over the South West Inland and coast with prospects of moderate rains over South East Inland and coast later in the day.
NiMet further predicted that the Southern states would have day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 34 and 20 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, Northern states will experience thunderstorms and moderate rains over Sokoto, Yelwa, Katsina, Kano, Nguru, Bauchi and Dutse with cloudy conditions over the other part of the region during the morning hours.
“Later in the day, partly cloudy condition is anticipated with prospect of thunderstorms and moderate rains over Maiduguri, Bauchi and Gombe with day and night temperatures of 31 to 40 and 22 to 29 degrees Celsius respectively.
“There are prospects of thunderstorms and moderate rains over most parts of the country in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicts. (NAN)
