The overall number of Coronavirus infections in Nigeria hit 63,036 on Monday as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) recorded 72 new cases.

The new cases were reported from eight states and the Federal Capital Territory.

An update from the disease control agency also reported one death from the virus, raising the total number of fatalities to 1147.

On the positive side, however, the agency said 538 persons who made full recovery were discharged on the day in review, adding, “Our discharges today include 460 community recoveries in Oyo State and 51 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.”

The 72 new cases were recorded as follows- Lagos (51), FCT (6), Ogun (4), Kaduna (3), Niger (2) and Ondo (2).
