The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, Kano, said it has arrested two men attempting to traffic cocaine out of the country to Saudi Arabia.
They were caught with about 2.927 kilograms of substances suspected to be cocaine which they were allegedly ingesting for trafficking to Sudan en route Saudi Arabia.
NDLEA Kano State Commander, Dr Ibrahim Abdul, while briefing newsmen on the arrest on Sunday, named the suspects as, Abdul Abubakar and Ibrahim Mustapha.
According to Abdul the suspects were arrested at a hotel on Katsina road in the city after close monitoring for over a month.

He also told journalists that the Agency’s operatives had dislodged some 50 hotspots within and outside the metropolis, in its fight against drug abuse.
The command’s efforts, he further said also led to the arrest of four suspects in possession of a pistol along Kano-Gwarzo road on their way to Funtua in Katsina State.
“An onslaught on the drug barons resulted in the arrest of two suspects, Abdul Abubakar and Ibrahim Mustapha, including the seizure of 2.927kg of cocaine, also for the first time by the command.
“Within the month of April, we succeeded in seizing 836.927kg of exhibits, which includes 9.927kg of cocaine, 250kg of Cannabis Sativa, 560 kilograms of Tramadol, including a foreign drug imported from South Africa called Khat, weighing 24kg,” Abdul said.
