A middle aged man identified as Mr. Ejiro Patrick has reportedly beaten his wife to death in Benue, the state police command said.
Patrick who Iives at km14 Tyomu, Gboko road, in Makurdi Local Government Area, was said to have beaten up his wife to a state of comma because of N5000 which led to her death.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Catherine Anene who confirmed the incident said the suspect, 42 years old, fisher man, hails from Delta State while the wife is from Benue.
Anene said trouble started when the wife sold some family items and did not give the husband the money.

“The reason for the violence that ended up at the river side was that the wife sold some items for the family and did not remit N5000.”
Anene said the victim was rushed to Benue State University Teaching Hospital, (BSUTH) where she was confirmed after bleeding from the nostrils.
She said the suspect is in police custody while investigation is still in progress
The PPRO also confirmed that the dead has been deposited at BSU Teaching Hospital morgue.
