Federal government’s evacuation of stranded Nigerians from Libya is a huge success.
South-South Zonal Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Martins Ejike, made this known in Port Harcourt on Friday.
He spoke on the arrival of the fourth batch of 465 Nigerian returnees from Libya in Port Harcourt
The returnees arrived Port Harcourt International Airport at about 12.25 a.m. on board Max Air.
Ejike said although there were some challenges in the process, it was nevertheless a huge success.
According to him, the government had put in place, every mechanism for the evacuation and the exercise was being carried out one step after the other.
Also, Ejike praised state governments for responding to the call to evacuate people of their states when they arrive.

“I am happy that the last set of returnees at the centre were all taken back to their various states on January 15,” he said.
Mr. Muhammad Dahiru, the public relations officer of Max Air also spoke on the exercise.
Said he: “Actually we did not have any security challenges in Libya.
“We landed in Libya about 7.30 and spent only one hour 30 minutes before we took off from there back to Nigeria.”
Osita John, one of the returnees was full of praises for the federal government.
Pointing out that his experience in Libya was nothing to write home about, John advised youth who are planning to travel through illegal means to shelve the idea.
