The Federal Roads Safety Commission, FRSC, has announced that there will be temporary traffic diversion on Sagamu bound traffic along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway between Sunday and Tuesday.
The areas to be affected are from Kilometre 26, around 200 metres from the existing RCCG car park C U-turn, to Kilometre 28, a location just after RCCG main gate.
The diversion, FRSC explained, would narrow Lagos bound traffic carriage way to accommodate two lanes both for Lagos and Sagamu bound traffic respectively.
In view of the development, the Ogun State Sector Commander, Clement Oladele, advised motorists to bear with the inconveniences of the temporary diversion and cooperate with FRSC patrol team and sister traffic and emergency agencies that would be strategically deployed to control the diverted traffic throughout the period of the diversion.
He advised motorists that since the development might increase the time of their usual travelling period, they should therefore increase the time of their travelling period whenever using the corridor during the period of the temporary diversion of traffic.
He said they would be required to drive within the maximum speed limit of 50km per hour, prescribed by the National Road Traffic Regulations, 2012, as maximum speed at construction zones.
He said they were also to observe lane discipline and be cautious while obeying traffic rules and regulations around the diversion area and on all other road corridors.
