A day after Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State governor, constituted the State Executive Council (SEC), members of the cabinet alongside Permanent Secretaries, started a capacity building retreat to prepare them for the tasks ahead.

Sanwo-Olu, who spoke though Gboyega Akosile, his Chief Press Secretary, said in a statement that the four-day retreat was organised for Commissioners, Special Advisers and Permanent Secretaries to enable them key into the policy thrust of building a greater Lagos in line with the six Pillars of Development (T.H.E.M.E.S) of the administration.

He disclosed that one of the major reasons for organising the four-day capacity building programme among others, was to foster and build team work and unity of purpose among administrators that would be taking decisions in the ministries, departments and agencies of government.

The retreat, he added, was also organised with the aim of equipping some of the cabinet members without public service background, with the rules and knowledge of public office.

He revealed that some of the facilitators engaged to interface with participants include former Executive Secretary of Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Mr. Fola Arthur-Worrey, founder of FATE Foundation, Mr. Fola Adeola, and former Lagos Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Wale Edun, among others.

The retreat, according to him, was expected to end on Saturday, when Sanwo-Olu would deliver the closing remarks, while a communiqué would also be issued then.
