The Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has dissolved the state’s executive council with immediate effect.

He directed the commissioners to hand over to permanent secretaries of their ministries.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Isiaka Gold, announced the dissolution in a statement on Thursday.

Gold said the governor had assured the people of the state that government businesses would be sustained  pending the reconstitution of the state’s executive council.

According to him, some measures had been put in place to ensure effective operation.

The governor, he added, thanked all the former executive council members, special advisers and assistants for their service and contributions to the state.
