Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has commiserated with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State over the death of his media aide, Simeon Nwakaudu, on Sunday.

Jonathan described the late Nwakaudu as a thoroughbred journalist, who displayed courage in carrying out his duties.

He added that he was at the forefront of explaining and defending the policies of Rivers State government.

In a condolence message, personally signed by Jonathan and made available to journalists on Monday by Ikechukwu Eze, his media aide, the former president, wrote, “I received with shock the news of the sudden passing of your media aide, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu, who died on Saturday after a brief illness.

“I condole with you, the Nwakaudu’s family, professional colleagues, and the government of Rivers State which he served faithfully and loyally.

“Nwakaudu was a thoroughbred journalist and public relations professional who displayed unflinching loyalty and courage in the discharge of his duties.

“I know his death is a great loss to you, his family, and the government of Rivers State, as he was a principal staff of your administration, who was at the forefront of explaining and defending policies and programmes of your government.

“I want you to take solace in the fact that Simeon Nwakaudu lived a life of service and dedication. He will be missed by many members of the society. On behalf of my family, please, accept my condolences.”
