Senior Special Assistant to Governor Samuel Ortom on Animal Husbandry, Shehu Tambaya has condemned the herdsmen attack on Waya Community in Moon District of Kwande Local Government area of Benue State describing it as a criminal act.
Recall that gunmen suspected to be herdsmen had invaded Waya Community on Tuesday shooting in all directions and killing three persons and injuring many others in the process.
Reacting to the development, Shehu Tambaya told the Next Edition in Makurdi, that the attack as not only criminal, but also unwarranted.
He appealed to security agencies to quickly fish out the perpetrators and bring them to book.

He particularly called on troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) to beef up security in the affected area as well as other volatile areas in the state to forestall further attacks.
Tambaya who reminded herdsmen that Benue State has a law prohibiting open grazing warned that anyone caught violating the law would be arrested and his livestock impounded.
He commended Gov. Ortom for providing trucks for movement of impounded livestock to the quarantine unit and solicited the support of the Benue people to enable the state achieve desired results.
He further called on all those who wish to do livestock business in Benue to obey the laws of the land and desist from taking to violence.
