The Hausa Community in Rivers State has dragged governor Nyesom Wike to court over the seizure of Cows and trucks from Adamawa.
They are demanding N100m as compensation for the arrest of their kinsmen who were in the state on a business trip alongside their cows and trucks.
Counsel to the arrested men, Eze Kpaniku, in the suit filed before the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, claimed that Gov. Wike erred in arresting the men, adding that they had waivers from the Federal Government.
Eze Kpaniku also lamented that both his clients and their cows have been arrested and dumped at the Isolation centre without food and medication for days.

Justice E.O. Obile fixed hearing for June 1 to allow the plaintiff to put Gov. Wike on notice over the case.
Recall that 14 persons had been intercepted at Rumuigbo, Obio Akpor LGA of the state in the early hours of Fridary, May 8, with Cattle from Adamawa.
Upon interception, Gov. Wike ordered that the men be prosecuted for breaching the lockdown and restriction of movement order impose in the state to fight the spread of Coronavirus.
He also ordered the auctioning of the cattle and the two trucks in which they were being conveyed.
