Six new private universities are coming soon.

This follows the approval of the federal government on Wednesday.

The institutions are Precious Cornerstone University, Ibadan; Admiralty University, Ibusa, Delta State; Atiba University, Oyo State; Eko University of Medical and Health Sciences Lagos; Spiritan University, Nneochi, Abia State; and Pamo University of Medical Sciences, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, announced the approval of the institutions after the Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari is away on official visit to Kano State.

The minister said the approval was to enable the National Universities Commission (NUC) ensure maximum supervision in order to maintain required standards.
