The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday, prayed the Presidential tribunal to order the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to grant them access to inspect the commission’s server.

The PDP also prayed the tribunal to give it permission to inspect other electronic gadgets used by INEC in the February 23 presidential election.

NAN reports that in their petition before the tribunal, the PDP and Atiku are claiming that they won the election as per the results fed into INEC’s server, a claim the electoral umpire has consistently refuted.

In a related development, Hope Democratic Party, HDP and its presidential candidate, Albert Oworu, also on Thursday, prayed the Tribunal to cancel the February 23 presidential election, describing the exercise as a “referendum” and not an election.

According to NAN, HDP in its petition marked CA/ PEPC/001/2019, urged the tribunal to nullify the outcome of the election and order a fresh poll.

Owuru who secured a total of 1,663 in the presidential election, insisted that the election was not conducted in compliance with the Electoral Act.
