The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday filed amended charges against Omoyele Sowore, convener of #RevolutionNow protest.
At the resumed trial, the EFCC, the prosecution lawyer, Aminu Akilu informed the court that an amended charge has been filed and was just served on the defence.
Consequently, the defence lawyer, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN) sought time to look at the new charge, following which the prosecution asked for an adjournment.
However, before adjourning the case, Justice Ijeoma Ojujkwu awarded N200,000 cost against the prosecution for causing unnecessary delay in the proceedings.

Recall that Sowore and his associate, Olawale Bakare, were arrested in August last year in respect of the #RevolutionNow protest and were held in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) for several months until their arraignment towards the end of last year.
They were charged with treasonable felony for allegedly planning to violently overthrow the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, and insulting him, among others.
The case originally fixed for Tuesday could not go on due to the absence of the trial judge, following which hearing was rescheduled for Wednesday.
At Wednesday’s sitting, Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, former Chairman of the Council of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Chidi Odinkalu and a former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani among other civil society organisations members, were on hand to support Sowore.
Hearing continues on Thursday (February 13).
