Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has lashed out on those criticising Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, for demolishing hotels of those who defied the lockdown order.
He said some of the critics did not speak when the Kaduna State governor, then Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasir el-Rufai, did what he considered worse than what Wike had done.
He said: “When el-Rufai was busy terrorising and pauperising thousands of Biafran businessmen by demolishing their hotels, bars, restaurants and homes in Abuja, some of the raging hypocritical voices of righteous indignation we are hearing today were never heard.

“They never uttered a word, nor made a sound because they were and still are afraid of the murderous tendencies of their masters who are still demolishing legitimate Igbo businesses in Abuja.”
The IPOB boss said that when el-Rufai became the governor of Kaduna State and allegedly admitted to paying terrorists that decimated the non-Fulani populations of Southern Kaduna, nobody reacted.
“Today, he is being touted as the next president of Nigeria by the same people condemning Gov. Nyesom Wike,” he said.
He said the current FCT minister, Bello Mohammed, simply carried on from where el-Rufai stopped and had been busy demolishing far more expensive buildings in Abuja belonging to Biafrans than the one destroyed in Igweocha (Rivers State) by Wike.
