Ace singer Davido is billed to headline the FIFA World Cup 2026 countdown concert in Los Angelos.

The Nigerian superstar joins Diplo’s Major Lazer in performing at the June 10 countdown concert as part of FIFA’s synchronised music event in LA, Toronto and Mexico City to hype the 2026 World Cup. 

He’s also featured on the official FIFA album “No Place Like Home”, dropping June 5 with four Nigerian artists including Ayra Star and collaboration like Shakira with Burna boy

The Nigerian singer took to his social media page, X (formally Twitter) on Wednesday where he shared photo and details of the event.

He wrote: “New music this friday !! ‘NO PLACE LIKE HOME’ with @MAJORLAZER @NellyFurtado @FIFAWorldCup”. 

Some fans who are excited about this development took to their social media platforms to react.

They wrote: @Pretty_airnb said, “i can’t wait for this this”.

@Fasterrdaddy commented, “FIFA World Cup know he will always deliver”.

Another user on X @Abazwhyllzz said, “The greatest musician in the world, back to back World Cup appearance”.

Also @Lifeofolaa stated, “Davido x FIFA WC 2026”.

‘OBO’, as the singer is fondly called by his fans and industry peers was born Nov 21, 1992 in Atlanta, US, began his music career professionally in 2011, and started working in his debut studio album ‘Omo Baba Olowo’, a mixture of Afrobeats and hip hop. 

He made his music debut as a member of the group KB International, and rose to fame after releasing “Dami Duro”, the second single from ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ (2012).
