President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the military and other security agencies to take over the security of Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State.
This followed the Monday attack on the school by the terrorists group, Boko Haram, an incident that left some of the students missing.
The president also sent three of his ministers to the state for an on-the-spot assessment of the situation.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made these known on Wednesday when speaking with State House correspondents shortly after the Federal Executive Council meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Buhari.
The ministers sent by Buhari to Yobe are the Minister of Defence, Brig-Gen. Mansur Dan-Ali; Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama.
Said Mohammed: “Mr. President has directed military and other security agencies to take immediate charge and control of Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi, and inform him of developments.
“He has released a delegation led by the Minister of Defence to Dapchi, to get first hand information as to what is happening.
“Others in the delegation are Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Information.’’
The minister added that the president had been in regular contact with the military and police over the situation in Yobe.
It would be recalled that some Boko Haram members struck at Yobe, carting food and other items away.
Some of the school girls were declared missing after the attack.

During a head count, it was discovered that 94 students were missing.
However, no fewer than 48 of the girls were reported to have returned.
The Commissioner for Education in Yobe State, Mohammed Lamin, said 28 of the missing students returned Tuesday night while 20 more others returned Wednesday morning.
“This has brought down the 94 missing students realised at yesterday headcount to 48 this morning.
“We are still hopeful that more are returning soon,” he said.
The students were said to have been rescued by villagers in the bush around Dapchi.
Some of the students fled when the insurgents struck on Monday.
Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Abdumaliki Sunmonu, however could not confirm a case of abduction.
