The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.Gen. Tukur Buratai, has visited the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, to condole with him over the crash of one the Nigerian Air Force’s helicopters and the death of five of its personnel on board.
He said the Nigerian army felt the pain and loss of the personnel.
While praying God to grant eternal rest to the crash victims, Buratai described them as “gallant heroes, whose death would not be in vain as they died in active service for the security of their country.”
The army chief noted that military job came with high risk and as professionals, they should accept such divine destiny – crash, in good faith.
Responding, the Chief of Air Staff, who received Buratai at the Headquarter of the Air Task Force Command in Maiduguri, thanked him for visiting to share the pains and grief of the air force over the incident and assured that the Nigerian air force would continue to support and work with the army.

He also pledged that notwithstanding the high risk associated with the military profession, they would continually give their best to ensure the successful prosecution of the counter terrorism operations.
The NAF helicopter, Mi-35M crashed on Wednesday, while providing close air support to troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, around Damasak in Northern Borno.
In a statement on Thursday, the Air Force confirmed that all five of its personnel on board, including the pilot and co-pilot, died in the incident.
