COVID-19: 35 Nigerians, Others Stranded In Europe Arrive Abuja

Thirty-five Nigerians and 32 other nationals who were stranded in France and other parts of Europe in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak have returned to the country.

They arrived Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, shortly before 4p.m on Sunday on board airfrance flight AF0936.

Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who disclosed this via Twitter, said the evacuation exercise was coordinated by the Nigerian Mission in France under Amb Modupe Irene and monitored by NiDCOM.

Dabiri-Erewa noted that the returnees would immediately proceed on a 14-day self isolation.

The tweet read: “@airfrance flight AF0936 conveying 35 Nigerians from France and other European countries with 32 other Nationals arrive Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at about 1545HRS from citizenM Paris Charles d G Airport in Paris today 26th July, 2020.

“The evacuation exercise was coordinated by the Nigerian Mission in France under Amb Modupe Irene and monitored by NiDCOM.

“All Evacuees will now proceed on a 14 day SELF-ISOLATION as mandated by @NCDCgov, @Fmohnigeria and PTF on #COVID-19.”
