The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission has appealed to the Benue state government to delegate more people to participate in the upcoming christian pilgrimage between March and  May 2021.

The Executive Secretary of the commission. Yakubu Pam made this call on Tuesday during  a courtesy visit on the Benue state Government in Makurdi.

Mr. Pam maintained that the  Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission is a divine institution which adds the faith of Christians as they visit and see  physically what have been preached in the Bible from holy cities like Israel, Rome and Jordan.

Mr. Pam stressed the need to encourage christians as they embark on the holy journey and appreciated the local churches for setting up holy christian centers within the state and implored the state government to provide all necessary support as they embark on the 2021 pilgrimage.

Responding, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom appreciated the commission for it’s role in uplifting the faith of Christians with a charge on them to take up the responsibility to unite the church and bring people closer to God rather than the pursuit of personal interest.

Governor Ortom congratulated the newly appointed Executive Secretary, describing him as a competent and qualified for the task saying he has contributed immensely to resolve the Tiv/Jukun crisis and the farmers/herders crisis.

He called on christians to wear the armour of God and continue to pray for Nigeria as the battle is not just physical but spiritually inclined and pledged his total support to the commission to fulfill it’s mandate.
