Aminu Ado Bayero, the new and 15th Emir of Kano was born in 1961, the second son of Ado Bayero, the 13th Emir of Kano.

He attended Kofar Kudu Primary School from where he proceeded to the Government Secondary School, Birnin Kudu.

On completion of his secondary education, young Bayero headed to the Bayero University, Kano, to study Mass Communication.

At the end of his four years in the university, he went to Flying College, Oakland, California, US, before undergoing the one year mandatory National Youth Service Corps at the Nigeria Television Authority, Makurdi.

According to Wikipedia, Bayero worked as a public relations officer at Kabo Air, before becoming a flight engineer.

In 1990, he was appointed Dan Majen Kano and district head of Dala by his father, Ado Bayero, before being promoted to Dan Buram Kano in October of the same year.

In 1992, he was promoted to Turakin Kano and in 2000, he became Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gida Kano.

Bayero also served as the chairman of the Kano emirate durbar committee.
In 2014, the derhroned emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, promoted him to Wamban Kano, thereby, transferring him from Dala to Kano municipal where he succeeded Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Tijani Hashim as the district head.

In 2019, he was appointed emir of Bichi, one of the new Emirates created by the governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje.

On March 9, 2020, Ganduje announced Aminu Ado Bayero as the 15th emir of Kano State.

He replaces Muhammad Sanusi II, who was deposed and exiled the same day.
