The Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) on Wednesday scaled first reading on the floor of the Nigerian Senate.
The Senate Leader, Yahaya Abdullahi, presented the proposed Bill which was then read by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.

The Bill was submitted to the Senate two weeks ago by President Muhammadu Buhari.
On Monday, the upper chamber promised to give Bill accelerated legislative action.
