The Minority Leader of the Imo State House of Assembly, Ekene Nnodimele, on Tuesday resigned his position.

He has also defected from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the All progressives Congress (APC).
The letter announcing his resignation and defection was read by the speaker, Collins Chiji, at plenary.
