Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, who regained his freedom Thursday night was picked up by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), according to reports.
The Next Edition gathered that Emefiele is currently being detained at the National Headquarters of the anti-graft Agency in Abuja, while undergoing interrogation.
The former CBN Governor was detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) since June after President Tinubu suspended him.
According to reports, Emefiele is being probed over alleged impropriety during his term as the head of the apex bank.
So far, there has been no official confirmation by any of the agencies.
