Big Brother Naija has opened its doors to a new set of 20 housemates in its fifth edition with a theme, Lockdown.

Anchored by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, a former housemate in Big Brother Nigeria show back in 2006 and host of the last three seasons of BBNaija – See Gobbe, Double Wahala and Pepper Dem.

According to the organizers, this year’s edition is an opportunity to turn a long stay at home into stardom and millions in cash.

The housemates were introduced by the host one after the other as they checked into a brand new house so beautifully decorated to the admiration of everyone. While popular Nigerian DJ Neptune provided background music for the event.

Twenty housemates comprising equal number of males and females were excited to be selected for season 5 of the reality television show.

The housemates are Ozo, Vee, Prince, Lilo, Trickytee, Lucy, Kidwaya, Dorathy
Praise, Nathoni, Tochi, Kabyna, Eric, Erica, Brighto, Kaisha, Neo, Tolanibaj, Laycon, and Nengi.

However, because of the Coronavirus pandemic, there was no live audience at the launch show. Organizers have pledged to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols throughout the duration of the event.
