Babcock University has dismissed allegations contained in a recent report by Al Jazeera titled “Tested on Palestinians: Epstein, Israel’s Barak pushed spy tech in Nigeria,” describing the claims as false and unfounded.
In a statement issued by the institution, the university refuted suggestions that it was involved in the procurement of biometric equipment from Israel or engaged in any form of counter-terrorism, surveillance, intelligence, or related security operations.
The management stated that immediately after the publication, it conducted a comprehensive internal review of its procurement, financial, and administrative records.
According to the university, the review confirmed that the claims linking the institution to the alleged transactions were “entirely unfounded, spurious, baseless and false.”
The faith-based institution emphasized that it operates under clearly defined procurement procedures that comply with national laws and internationally recognised accountability standards. It noted that all acquisitions are subjected to structured approval processes, proper documentation, and institutional oversight.
The university further dissociated itself from any insinuation that contradicts its mission, governance framework, and operational mandate, reaffirming its commitment to integrity, transparency, and responsible leadership.
The statement authorised members of the public to contact, Dr. Johnson Babafemi Akintayo, Associate Vice-President, Communication, Media and Branding, for further clarification if necessary.
