Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has thanked Benue people for the memorable reception they gave the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar during his campaign visit in the State on Friday.
Governor Ortom in a press release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, called on the Benue populace to sustain their support for the PDD until victory is achieved for Atiku Abubakar saying he remained the best man for the Presidency of Nigeria.
The Governor commended in particular, former Senate Presidents, Senators David Mark and Iyorchia Ayu, immediate past Governor, Gabriel Suswam and other leaders of PDP in the State for their selfless contributions which led to the success of the rally.
He also thanked in a special way, the Tor Tiv, the Och’ Idoma and the entire Benue State Council of Traditional Rulers, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, as well as the Muslim Community for granting audience to the former Vice President.
Gov. Ortom equally commended the Chairman and entire members of the State Working Committee of PDP, the State Campaign Council, as well as thousands of members of the party across the 23 local government areas for their tireless efforts in the hitch-free hosting of the Makurdi rally.
He thanked Benue people from all walks of life including traders, workers, motorists, youths and all other groups for coming out in large numbers to receive the PDP Presidential candidate and his entourage at the Makurdi Airport and to Aper Aku Stadium.

Ortom said Atiku Abubakar remained the best man for the Presidency of Nigeria especially now that the country’s economy was being poorly run and its unity threatened as a result of unpopular Federal Government policies worsened by impunity and marginalisation.
He described as heart-warming and reassuring, Atiku’s declaration to support the Benue State Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law to ensure lasting peace and security in the state.
Gov. Ortom urged Benue people to sustain the momentum of support for Atiku Abubakar, his re-election bid and all PDP candidates vying for various positions in the coming general election.
Recall that the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, the Zege Mule u Tiv and Wazirin Adamawa, overwhelmed by an enthusiastic crowd that received him in Benue state during his campaign rally said “Benue People, I swear, I love you all.”
