Africa’s Richest Man, Aliko Dangote, has vowed to fire Arsene Wenger, Manager of Arsenal Football Club when he finally takes over the English Premier League team.

Mr. Dangote, who is a known fan of the English FA Cup champion right from the mid-1980s, said in an interview with Bloomberg, he intends to make an offer to purchase the club just after his mega refinery is completed in Lagos by 2019.

“When I succeed in buying Arsenal, the first thing I would change is the coach,” he said.

“I think he has done a great job but someone else should also try his luck,” Dangote further reiterated.

The current majority shareholder at Arsenal Football Club is Stan Kroenke, an American sports entrepreneur, who has been under fire for failing to push the management of the club harder towards winning major silverware.

The American billionaire currently owns over 67 percent of top Premier League club, while Russian billionaire, Alisher Usmanov, holds a 30 percent stake in the club.

Aliko Dangote is confident he can persuade both Mr. Kroenke and Mr. Usmanov to sell their stakes in the club.

“Once I get them the right offer, I’m sure they would walk away. The moment the refinery is done, I think we will be in the position to make such irresistible offer,” the Nigerian billionaire said.

Dangote was introduced to Arsenal in the mid-1980s by his bosom friend, David Dean, popularly known as “Mr. Arsenal.”

Since then, Mr. Dangote has been a massive supporter 13 times English FA cup< champions.
